(SOW-Social Work)

The ACAT assesses student learning outcomes in a major. Online and paper versions can be used concurrently. ACATs are available for student learning outcomes assessment in agriculture, art, biology, business, communication, criminal justice, geology, history, literature in English, political science, psychology, and social work.

ACCUPLACER tests were redesigned in 2016 to better align with the content on the SAT Suite of Assessments and the skills that research shows students need to be ready for college.  The tests include texts and tasks students will likely encounter in first-year college courses, and the math content is more aligned to state college and career readiness standards.  Students should inquire with prospective college Admissions office to determine requirements or recommendations on acceptance of the score.

The ACT comes in two versions, National and Residual. The ACT Residual test is a service available to students who are enrolled, admitted or applying to 性奴调教. Scores can be used to help determine eligibility for admissions and for students who need a specific score for their desired program of study. These test scores are only used for KSU students or prospective students. The results are not shared with other institutions. The advantage to taking the Residual ACT is that it offers the flexibility in administration dates, times, and location.  The ACT National Test is available to students who plan to apply to any college or university nationally.  

ACT Residual Test:

  • The exam is scheduled by appointment once per month from November 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020 (unless otherwise specified).  Residual testing is closed during the month of October. Tests will be scheduled by appointment after November 1.
  • The test is not given in on holidays, or during any other official University break. A non-refundable testing fee of $65 without the writing component and $75 with the writing component. The fee is due before the test administration along with the registration form. Complete the Testing Services Request Form for the ACT Residual. You will receive the notification for the date, time, and location.  An additional confirmation will be sent once the fee has been received.
  • Candidates must pre-register and pay for the test in person by coming to the Cashiers office located in the Julian M. Carroll Building, Academic Services Building #364, 性奴调教, Frankfort, KY 40601. Cash, checks, credit cards and money orders are accepted, make checks and money orders payable to KSU Testing Center with the information provided to you via email when you registered.
  • Testing Accommodations: Students who require testing accommodations are eligible to take tests based on the provisions of their documentation. The Testing Center should be informed prior to the testing date to provide specific modifications for students. Students who have a disability and choose to take the tests under regular timed testing conditions may not petition to re-take the tests on the basis of their disability if they are dissatisfied with the scores they earn.
  • Photo Identification (driver鈥檚 license, school I.D. card, passport, etc.) is required to be admitted to the test.
  • Cancellations, late arrivals, or a no show for the test will result in a loss of fees. There are no refunds. No one is admitted to the testing site after testing begins.
  • Results are submitted to the appropriate department and are mailed to the individual student.
  • A minimum of 60 days is required before repeat of a Residual test.

High school students can earn college credit, placement, or both for qualifying AP Exam scores. Each AP Exam has a corresponding AP course and provides a standardized measure of what students have learned in the AP classroom. 性奴调教 offers proctoring services for the Advanced Placement (AP) Exams.

The College Board鈥檚 College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) has been the most widely trusted credit-by-examination program for over 50 years, accepted by  and universities and administered in test centers. This challenging program allows students from various ages and backgrounds to demonstrate their mastery of introductory college-level material and earn college credit. Students can earn credit for what they already know by getting qualifying scores on any of the 34 examinations.

CLEP is sponsored by the College Board, however only colleges may grant credit toward a degree. Not all colleges have the same CLEP policies鈥攕ome colleges accept credit for a few exams, while others accept credit for all of them. A college often grants the same amount of credit to a student who earns satisfactory scores on a CLEP exam as it does for a student who successfully completes the related course.  KSU requires students who wish to test out of a course to take the CLEP exam for the course to receive the credit.  Click the link to obtain class credits offered and accepted for CLEP: 

Students should register for the appropriate CLEP examination    the semester before enrolling in the corresponding 性奴调教 course. If unsuccessful on the CLEP exam, students can register for the course during the next semester.

Appointments for CLEP exams are scheduled through the KSU Testing Center after meeting with your Academic Advisor to discuss the acceptance, appropriate test and registration with  CLEP via . For the CLEP examinations, 性奴调教 aligns the score on the objective portions that is recommended by the Commission on Educational Credit of the American Council on Education.

To Register for the CLEP Exam follow these steps:

  1. Students must register to take the exam at .
  2. Create an account on the  registration portal.
  3.  Select and Register for the correct CLEP exam.
  4. Pay your exam fee.
  5. Print your registration ticket.
  6. Pay $30.00 fee to KSU Testing Center.
  7. Contact the Test Center to schedule an appointment to test. (You can also indicate your preferred test center during the exam registration process on My Account and have the contact information for your preferred test center printed on your registration ticket).

Correspondence Testing

A correspondence exam is an exam in which student and teachers communicate by mail. 性奴调教 offers a secure testing environment for proctoring correspondence exams and is recognized as a proctoring agent for college extension and distance learning programs.  Correspondence exams are fee-based, individually scheduled and conducted according to regulations specified by the credit granting institution. Examinees are responsible for coordinating test delivery with the instructor and institution of the course.  All correspondence exams must be scheduled by appointment to arrange delivery and administration services.

DSST鈥檚 are credit-by-examination tests originated by the US Department of  Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) program. The program is an extensive series of 38 examinations in college subject areas that are comparable to the final or end-of-course examinations in undergraduate college courses. These tests are frequently used in conjunction with CLEP tests by students pursuing college degrees in non-traditional formats. CLEP tests are almost exclusively used for lower level credit at regionally accredited institutions. DSST鈥檚 are available for both upper and lower level credit.

The graduate record examination (GRE) is a standardized exam used to measure one's aptitude for abstract thinking in the areas of analytical writing, mathematics, and vocabulary. The GRE is commonly used by many graduate schools in the U.S. and Canada to determine an applicant's eligibility for the program.

The National League for Nursing-Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exam (NACE) are nursing validation tests designed to evaluate previous learning to assist in the placement of nurses who are seeking educational mobility.
The tests are designed for two pathways: NACE-I for LVN/LPN to RN and NACE-II for RN to BSN.

KSU uses placement tests in certain subjects to check the academic skill levels of entering students for placement of each student in courses. The test results may mean that students are prepared for advanced courses or more preparation is required before enrolling in courses. Some placement tests are given electronically, via  paper-pencil or individual departments have developed their placement tests. For example, KYOTE is a placement test that is a computerized tests that can be used to help select classes and plan an appropriate course of study. However, academic departments will provide approval of acceptance.

To determine if you can take a Placement Test:

  • Check with the Department Chair, Advisor or course instructor
  • Ask the Department Chair, Advisor or course instructor about practice exams
  • If you need accommodations please contact the KSU Testing Center for more information
  • Schedule your exam with the KSU Testing Center

The Praxis Series tests are used by many states to measure teacher candidates鈥 knowledge and skills as part of the teacher licensure and certification process. The Praxis Series tests measure test takers鈥 knowledge and skills. The tests are used for licensing and certification processes and include:

  • Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core) Tests-These tests measure academic skills in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. They were designed to provide comprehensive assessments that measure the skills and content knowledge of candidates entering teacher preparation programs. See .
  • Praxis Subject Assessments (formerly the Praxis II tests)-These tests measure subject-specific content knowledge, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills that K鈥12 educators need for beginning teaching. .

The SAT is a globally recognized college admission test that lets you show colleges what you know and how well you can apply that knowledge. It tests your knowledge of reading, writing and math 鈥 subjects that are taught every day in high school classrooms. Most students take the SAT during their junior or senior year of high school, and almost all colleges and universities use the SAT to make admission decisions.
